How can your faith community take root and SEED LIFE in the face of the climate crisis?
Join Georgia Interfaith Power & Light (GIPL) on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church for a regional Green Team Summit Circle in Valdosta. This half-day gathering will bring together Green Teams, faith leaders, and environmental advocates for a morning of connection, learning, and faithful action.
The event will feature a plenary speaker, two rounds of workshops, and a light breakfast. Speakers and workshop leaders will address topics including how to organize a congregational Green Team, how to engage in advocacy and organizing efforts, and how planting and protecting trees, especially in under-forested South Georgia communities, can advance justice and build climate resilience.
Whether you're just getting started or looking to deepen your impact, you’ll leave equipped with tools, inspiration, and a supportive network to help your congregation grow toward a more just and sustainable future.
General admission is $25. Student tickets are $10. Questions? Contact Hannah Shultz at hannah@gipl.org. And if you’re interested in sponsorship opportunities, email our development manager, Stephanie Williams, at stephanie@gipl.org.
