Families across the state are already struggling with rising energy bills, while Georgia Power seeks to cash in on the data center boom. Our faith calls us to care for our neighbors and protect Sacred Earth. The Georgia Public Service Commission has the power to choose a just and moral path for our energy future and say NO to Georgia Power’s fossil fuel expansion. Will you join us in calling for clean, affordable energy that prioritizes people over corporate profit?

Georgia’s Okefenokee Swamp is a 438,000-acre National Wildlife Refuge located in the southeast part of the state. It is the largest blackwater swamp in the United States and one of the state's Seven Natural Wonders. Home to a variety of rare plant and animal species, including the red-cockaded woodpecker, the indigo snake, and the wood stork, the Okefenokee is truly a national treasure! But its future is at risk. Mining operations around the swamp threaten its waters and increase wildfire risk. The Georgia General Assembly must act now to safeguard this sacred place. Approximately 80-100 miles off the Georgia coast lies the largest known deep-water coral reef on Earth, in a part of the Atlantic Ocean known as Blake Plateau. The continuous 300-mile-long dense coral highway dubbed “Million Mounds” supports a trove of biodiversity. As industries look farther offshore for fishing, fossil fuel development, and mineral extraction, ensuring the continuation of this vital ecological community will require dedicated attention and increased conservation measures.
